This sweet, little guy has sure grown up this year!

Brandt has had a very exciting month!

He just celebrated his 3rd birthday and just before that got a new baby sister!!

I had a good time year just conversing with him as we wandered around his Grandparents house in Clear Lake.

I think he knew my name started with a "G" so for awhile here he was calling me

Grandma but I quickly laughed with him at that one and got him to call me Glenda.

It's amazing the physical abuse I have to endure to get an action shot
smirk... of course then he'd laugh and that's what I was looking for!!

Nothing quite as exciting and fun as a blustery, New Years Eve wedding in Minnesota!

Steve and Marisa's "first look" was so sweet - Love the smile on Steve's face!

Steve and Marisa were married at the beautiful Marjorie McNeely Conservatory at Como Park in St Paul!

Their reception was held at Hillcrest Golf Club where Marisa happens to work as their

catering manager so... if you need a fabulously organized gal - believe me, she can pull it off!

Such a fabulous venue for a wedding/reception and their food is out of this world tasty!

This beautiful cake was made by the "mother of the bride" - great job Colleen! ;)

And the perfect way to bring in the year 2011!!

Thank you Steve and Marisa, I so enjoyed capturing the story of your beautiful wedding.

Congratulations and blessings as you start off this brand new year as husband and wife!!

Just a side note here for brides and grooms on "first looks"...

I always encourage my couples to have their "first look" before the ceremony - Its a very special and intimate moment between the bride and groom that they can share alone for the first time. I have seen over and over how much more enjoyable this for a couple and their emotions are so much more real because they are not in front of a crowd of people, it really seems to take the edge off the nerves of the bride and groom and they are able to relax, enjoy and remember the details of their most special day!

Sigh... I love the shadows of their "oh so happy faces" behind them on the wall,

the gorgeous snow very heavily falling through the windows - this one just makes me smile Ü

While we did family and group shots...

...the guests enjoyed a little chocolate fondue!

I think a "waterfall of chocolate" has got to be the most beautiful thing ;)

The dinner reception...

Their beautiful cake was made by the talented Becky who happens to be the Mother of the Groom!

Speeches...

They had the best video I have ever seen all set to music, video included - amazing!

Bethany's Dad and Uncle Dave spent many hours on that creation :) which in my opinion was well worth it!!

Tim and Bethany left through a blaze of sparklers in an Amish buggy pulled by a beautiful

but,"very spooked by the sparklers horse" he was so ready to get out of there!

We went over to the Blue Gate where we got some more beautiful pictures of just the two

of them before they left all the snow and cold behind for a "secret location" honeymoon!

Tim and Bethany I soo enjoyed photographing your beautiful weekend and I hope you had an amazing time in St. Lucia.

Location: Farmstead Inn in the heart if Northern Indiana Amish Country, Shipshewana, Indiana

I knew this wedding was going to be special... I was driving into town with one of the Midwest's biggest snowstorms blowing at my heels and as I am driving into Shipshewana I see all of these beautifully kept white farmhouses covered in snow and close by are clotheslines loaded with the weeks clean laundry hanging out to dry it was so simple yet so beautiful! Buggies and bicycles being ridden all over town as I in my heated SUV drive slowly through in amazement.

The occasion... a destination wedding of Tim and Bethany!
These two have waited a long time for this day and the glow on their faces as they each arrived with their parents from two different cities made for a VERY excited air!!

The rehearsal the night before went as rehearsals often do... much anticipation and fear of the unknown but then on the second time through everything just kind of falls into place Ü The talented, organized, coordinator Elaine Roach was the glue that held it together!

Wedding day arrived overcast (yeah for me) snowy and beautiful. Guests were arriving from all over and meeting up in the hallways with big hugs and hearty greetings.

Here is where we start with Bethany getting her hair done by her talented Aunt Heidi ;)

Louise made each of the gals one of these adorable capes!

And ohhh there is soo much more so stay tuned for "part II" coming soon!

P.S. We'll leave one shot of Tim here before we go... just because he was a big part of this day too. ;)

Devin {senior}

Imagine that... I found another fellow early riser!!
Devin is a senior at St Croix Falls High School
and because she is a morning person as well we set out soon after daybreak here in Stillwater for some fun shots!!

Then up to the park... Devin loves to swing!

She brought along two of her friends...
Her cat Gertie and her doll Brittney.

And look... we even found some beautiful, early Fall color!

I had such a great time gallivanting all over Iowa Falls with Peyton and his Mom for this shoot!

Peyton is a senior at Iowa Falls High School and enjoys "cruising" so of course we had to include his car!

And his dog Libby :)

He also likes soccer and plays for the Iowa Falls Cadets!

We arrived here at the dam here to get some pictures and "Bill" showed up to actually open the dam
and he invited us in for a tour and to get pictures which was awesome!! Thanks Bill!!

Landon {9 months}

I can hardly believe this little guy is 9 months! He has grown quite a bit since his 6 month shoot!

We decided to do some summery beach shots and wouldn't you know

it turned out to be one of the "coolest" days of the summer!!

We got a few shots here on the beach just in time because in blew a fierce rain storm but,

then it blew out just as fast and left us with this gorgeous rainbow!!

Sam♥Maria part III {wedding}

And finally to the wedding... Ü

Maria came in via boat from across the lake which was so unique and fun! Such a beautiful picture watching her coming into the dock with her proud, smiling Father at her side, the sun beaming on her and the breeze blowing her veil.

Thier "sand keepsake" was a little different than I had seen before and it was sooo neat. The minister read off all the items that their Mothers had each added to their individual sand containers. Each were little tokens or momentos from their childhood that had meaning and I thought it was a really special idea.

Some brought tears...

And some laughter...

then they combined all those memories together...

The new Mr and Mrs dancing their way down the aisle to "let's get this party started" - how appropriate!!

And what a dinner and party it was... "Texas" beef brisket to die for!!

LOL...the cake cutting started out so beautiful and then... Sam started it ;)

But oh no worries... Maria got him back Ü

Some details, the groomsmen and a very emotional first look...

I met up with and shot Sam and his guys across the road.

Sam is origionally from Abilene, TX and so his groomsmen gave him these awesome cuff links for a wedding present :)

LOL...as you can see I had to work real hard to get nice, sober, clean shots :)
no really, they were a ton of fun and it took no time at all!!

Their first look was so emotional...

Sam was so excited to see his "Mia" he had himself worked into a nervous frenzy just waiting - so cute!

I was just shooting away and praying my focus was ok because I was tearing up so bad.

Sigh... love it so beautiful!

Ok now I need a moment Ü come back tomorrow for the rest of this beautiful story!

Two beautiful people so in love and sooo ready to become husband and wife.

First off... thank you Duke for asking me to second shoot with you.

We started out where the girls got their hair done at Images By Karen who by the way has
this phenomenal hair salon attached to her home (what a dream for any wife) it was beautiful!

Sigh... I love this family.

At some point in my life I have worked with each one of these gals and they are truely beautiful inside and out.

They had dinner on the Andiamo and I met up with them as they were coming back to dock in downtown Stillwater.

The Andiamo worker invited me on to shoot their photos which I thought was really nice so cheers to
St Croix Boat & Packet Company for their hospitality!!

My seniors rock!!

I have had so much fun incorporating high school seniors into my business and portfolio over the last year. There is something about this time in their/your lives where there is a ton of emotion! Everything from stress and being nervous about school starting again to the excitement of it being your senior year. Some of you have ideas about what you want to do and can't wait until you get there and others of you are simply living in the moment and really excited about your upcoming senior year!

They/you all each have such fun and different personalities and it has been very fun and so interesting to see "what" you bring to your shoot! For some of you it's all about the clothes and for others you could care less! Some have ideas about how you want your pictures to look and others are like "I'm just doing this for Mom and Grandma". And processing... I never knew you all had so many varying tastes some want the model look with re-touched perfect skin and others it's all about being washed out and vintagey (humm...is that a word? Ü) LOL, I just love it!

Anyway... we are closing in on the end of summer here and I do have a few more openings in the next couple of months for those who have been putting it off so be sure and give me a call and lets discuss what you/or Mom would like!

Woo-Hoo for the Class of 2011!

I met them at Pops & Grammies in Clear Lake, IA for his 2 year photo shoot

we found this great fountain at the park and because his mother wasn't right there I let him have some fun - gasp! Ü

and then of course we topped off our fun with an adorable shot to show off his angelic little self!

They chose not to see each other before the ceremony so we first met up with Darla...

I met up with this adorable couple this last weekend while at a bible conference in Pella, Iowa
and I was thrilled to have been asked to photograph their upcoming wedding at the end of the year.

Bethany was a bridesmaid at one of my weddings last year at this same, beautiful Central College
location where we shot these. These two are so super fun and photogenic that I had a terrible time
choosing which pictures to put up - so I just picked a whole bunch!
